Emotional Regulation in Training

Emotional regulation in training is crucial in any training environment, whether in sports, professional development, or personal growth. It enables individuals to manage stress, stay focused, and maintain motivation, ultimately leading to better performance and learning outcomes.

I don’t believe coaching is all about effective physical training. Without mental preparation the most physically prepared athlete can have negative experiences or fall apart on race day. At TTP I work on all aspects of preparedness, ensuring both mind and body have the best chance of a successful outcome.

What is Emotional Regulation

Emotional regulation refers to the ability to control and manage emotions effectively. This includes:

  • Recognising emotions (self-awareness)
  • Understanding triggers (what causes emotional reactions)
  • Managing responses (choosing appropriate reactions)
  •  Sustaining motivation and focus
